WWI Army Coat Butchered into a Vest

I'll consider this a "rescue" from a rummage sale. Cost next to nothing but I thought maybe someone here could use a set of buttons for the price of postage. It is named to an Irwin E. Schudet and has some other markings - Lowry Hall Columbia, MO Co. 3. I only did a quick search to find this man lived in Missouri at the turn of the century and Lowry Hall is on the University of Missouri campus. The bad news is that someone cut the sleeves off of this and made it into a vest. It also has obvious blood stains in the lining. Came with a WWI campaign ribbon which I believe is a later clutch-back and an early "PISTOL SHOT FIRST CLASS" badge that I'm not even sure is military. I'll keep the pistol badge, but the rest is up for grabs if anyone wants it for the cost of a medium first class box. If the buttons are the only thing worth saving, let me know.post-8602-0-68163700-1464074772.jpg
