bellasilva Posted May 15, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 15, 2016 Picked these up today at a large local outdoor flea market, for what I believe to be a fair price. Condition is somewhat rough, although the leather is still supple. One tongue is detached but still there. Markings on the sole are as shown, not named. Thoughts on the era? Age has darkened the leather but they appear to have been a couple of shades lighter brown. If you need more pictures I'll be glad to take them, thanks gents. Navybean Posted May 15, 2016 Share #3 Posted May 15, 2016 Look like the late WW2/Korean War era combat boot died black for mid to late 50s use.
3IDGarand Posted May 15, 2016 Share #4 Posted May 15, 2016 By looking at the soles and the color of the leather...I would say late WWII/Korea.

bellasilva Posted May 16, 2016 Author Share #8 Posted May 16, 2016 Thanks for the input gents! The seller was asking $40, I talked him down to $20. I'd imagine that's not too bad? This is my first pair of vintage military boots so I walked away happy in either case. Thanks again!
MattS Posted May 17, 2016 Share #9 Posted May 17, 2016 With the capped toes they look like jump boots to me. SKIP The standard issue boots in the 1950s and early 60s had capped toes like jump boots. These are 1960 dated issue boots:
patches Posted May 18, 2016 Share #10 Posted May 18, 2016 Well there's the three features the Jump Boot has that these boots do not, the gap between the heal and the sole and the stitching on the ankle as seen below in photo and the beveled angled heal. The ones in the OP, as mentioned, are your late 40s-early 50s combat boot, dyed Black circa 1958 or there about's for the new look.
