BND173D Posted May 14, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2016 THIS IS A COPPER GRENADE. NOT THREADED ON BOTTOM. LOOK LIKE WW1 TYPE. THE FUZE WAS A EARLY WW1 THAT THE THREADS WERE STRIPPED AND IT WAS GLUED IN. THE GRENADE APPEARS SOLID COPPER. LOOKS LIKE IT WAS MADE AT A FOUNDRY. HAS ANYONE SEEN ONE LIKE IT AND WHEN WAS IT MADE. DON'T SEE ANY MARKING. THANKS ED

svt40 Posted July 29, 2018 Share #6 Posted July 29, 2018 Copper plating is used to allow chrome to stick to metal. Probably just never finished getting chromed.
