161ST FA HELMET AND SMALL GROUPING

I took a chance on this one on ebay and put in an offer and surprisingly ended up getting it. The pics of it weren't all that clear and after having it in hand the color is way off. The helmet is a raised buckle fixed bail and it has a 1st pattern Hawley that has a few signs of being together for a decent amount of time. Also with it were a few small items including the DUI of the 161st FA.
The lid itself is camo painted and what wasn't clear from ebay is that it got a whole coat of a darker green then camo painted with yellow. Theres also some sort of tac marking with 314 on it as well as what I think might possibly be a crude 1st Army logo.
The seller didn't have a name and all thats on the lid is the initials CLT.
I have a good feeling that my chance may have payed off on this one.

LOOKS REAL GOOD PLUS THAT RUST IN THE POT SURE DOES MATCH ON THE LINER. LIKE THAT CAMO.

Thanks Costa. The original pics on ebay did it no justice.

The yellow and green marking just above the 314 reminds me of the markings seen on alot of vehicles and equipment just before the invasion of France. In that instance the combination of colors were meant to signify what unit the vehicle or equipment belonged to.

I saw this last night while scrolling the ended items. Was wondering if anybody here snagged it because I really wanted to see more photos of it. Looks badass. I really like this one. Congrats.

So I wanted to update this topic because something has come to light with this helmet. Recently my family came to visit and my young nephew pulled this helmet off the shelf by the strap almost taking himself out (he's fine). Since day one this paint has been sort of flakey and when it hit the hardwood floor a whole ton came off. Once it came off I noticed more markings as well as other camo. I usually don't strip helmets but based on how much came off when it hit the floor I chose to roll the dice.

What I uncovered is a few new tac markings with Ws also some brown striped camo which is well worn and was under the other layer of camo. Also I still cant find any connection between the helmet and the patches that came with it. I'm not even sure they belong together.
