thunderw21 Posted March 21, 2016 Share #1 Posted March 21, 2016 I'm attempting to place an original M9 bazooka optical sight on a replica bazooka. It's going well except for one thing: I cannot for the life of me find a nut that will fit on the sight bolt. It's 3/8" and the thread is super fine. I had a heck of a time hunting down a 3/8 nut with a 32 thread and even that isn't fine enough. Does anyone know what kind of thread these had and where I could find a nut I can use? thunderw21 Posted March 21, 2016 Author Share #2 Posted March 21, 2016 Got my answer! It's 40 TPI. Thanks!
glenm Posted December 6, 2016 Share #3 Posted December 6, 2016 Hi there, What pitch nut did you end up with that works? Got the same problem myself!!! Cheers, Glen.
thunderw21 Posted December 6, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted December 6, 2016 I had to make my own nut. I found a nut of a slightly smaller size and drilled out the threads. I then tapped the nut with a 40 TPI thread tap I got off ebay. It takes some time and patience but it worked for me.
mutt71 Posted February 17, 2019 Share #5 Posted February 17, 2019 I am following you fine example of adding more accurate detail to one of these and have a question for you. Would you be willing to make another of these nuts and sell it? If so, what would you want for it? Thanks in advance
