Very nice.Just think what you will find when all the ice and snow melts

Too funny, but isn't it missing the tension arms and the ear piece looks odd as well. or maybe it's just the cold effecting my vision.

M24 Chaffee

Nice tanker grouping. Cool find. The helmet is interesting. It's missing a few things and has some unusual features like the snaps on top of the helmet near the air vents. Maybe post pics in the helmet forum? Someone there may have some thoughts and not notice the photos on this thread.

Most likely Charles W Atkins, 20822874 enlisted 1940 into the Cav from Texas.

Nice grouping.

Thanks it's an odd one for sure, I think it's a foreign made helmet that was adopted by this particular soldier. The mix match snaps United Carr really has me thinking.

Thanks again.

:(So looking at the uniform it looks like the helmet and uniform do not go together. The markings in the uniform are H-5955, oh well the uniform is still cool even if the helmet doesn't go with it.

This helmet looks like a post-1945 type.

The earpiece reminds me of the Belgian/Dutch type.

No remnants of a black ink stamp on the inside of the rear part?

The extra press button might have been for the boom microphone?

Bundeswehr? 1960s type helmet?

The only stamp is in post 12 but oddly enough it reads US 1942. Really an odd duck

Well I think it's been decided the helmet is post war occupation period and foreign. The snaps have me thinking it was used by a US soldier but the stamp just doesn't make sense to me.

Thank to everybody for you comments. The uniform is my next investigation I have not taken of the hanger yet but will tonight and look name number etc...

More to follow.
