If anyone can identify the jacket and if it's Navy or Air Corps, I would love to know! Thanks in advance for any info. Rick

northcoastaero Posted August 4, 2016 Share #3 Posted August 4, 2016 What is the name of the photo studio on the bottom right of the photo? Maybe the flight clothing belonged to the studio and not the pilot/aircrewman? The following are my opinions about the flight clothing: Helmet: -USAAF B-5 with hard leather ear cups? I think it is this one? -USN/USMC NAF-1092W Goggles: -USAAF/USN/USMC AN-6530. I think this is the type? -USAAF B-7 Scarf: -Could be military or civil? Jacket: -Not sure. I am not an expert on flight jackets. Hope this helps.

The jacket he's wearing isn't the familiar A-2, B-3, etc. that you typically see. I thought it might be something a specific group of pilots wore. It seems like I saw a "famed" group of pilots wearing similar jackets in a documentary. I'm just surprised that no one in this forum knows anything about it. It's certainly an oddball that I figured would generate more interest than it has.
