I have noticed that the USC&GS corps device in the pre-WW2 material I have seen is silver with a gold triangle, and that is also shown in the 1943 National Geographic. In the 1944 Nat Geo, the corps device is all gold with a narrow dark outline around the triangle, like the one above. Does anyone have an official date for that change?
