coastie56 Posted December 25, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 25, 2015 First disclaimer (I wrote this book). After obtaining the personal collection of the Camp Hood Post Commander I realized it contained a wealth of images and info. So I contacted Arcadia publishing and Voila a book was born. If one is interested in the training methods and stateside buildup of the Army at the beginning of WW2 this is a good source. It is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and the Arcadia site. Check it out. A lot of research and tons of pics (180) covering Camp Hood from 1942 to 1945. http://www.amazon.com/Fort-Hood-World-Images-America/dp/1467134716/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451059070&sr=8-1&keywords=fort+hood http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/fort-hood-in-world-war-ii-texas-david-ford/1122687216?ean=9781467134712 https://www.arcadiapublishing.com/Products/9781467134712

coastie56 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted March 19, 2016 Recently purchased a few pictures with one of my favorite subjects Camp Hood. Wish I had these before the book was published. Nice views of the actual build. From the 631st Tank Destroyer Battalion
coastie56 Posted December 26, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted December 26, 2016 It's been one year since my Camp Hood book went live and I'm glad to say it has been moderately successful which completely surprises me. Thanks to the folks who have been interested enough to purchase it. Dave
