The serial number belongs to a army reserve officer, all reserve officer serials start with "O-". Unfortunately if all you have is the reserve serial and no name it is next to impossible to research the owner. I have been trying to research a couple reserve serials of my own for some time, and have had no luck.

You have his name, service number, and he was apparently a bombardier. If you can determine what type of aircraft or what unit he was in, you might find more. Many bomb groups have excellent websites.

AAF_Collection

For a quick search the name is more use than the serial number, but for a fee a researcher can probably pull his personnel file from the NARA using the name and number, although some files are more complete than others..

I did not get much out of NARA seeing i only have the person reserve number. I tried searching the name only and still nothing, i will keep searching. Thanks

What is the bombadier's name? I can look around and see what I can find on him.

Edit:

If you have a chance could you post a picture of the other side of the bracelet?

I was able to get a little further but there is not much on peoples military history for great generation on the internet. All you can find is gov. paperwork. Here's another cool site to help researchers.

You would be surprised as to what information is available online.

Looking at the id bracelet with the person reserve id # ,was this used after the war? I can understand the dog tag and id bracelet but not sure what's idea behind the bracelet with a reserve number on it.

It could have been, officer serial numbers (reserve or not) didn't usually change.

If you can tell me his name I can look him up in a book and probably see what bombardier class he was in.

Also, I have a roster of the members of the 99th BG with many of the members serial numbers. The officer's serial numbers I have all start with 0- except for the Warrant Officers that start with W-.

And I can run his name through Ancestry, Genealogy Bank, etc. and see what I find about him there.
