KurtA Posted December 19, 2015 Share #3 Posted December 19, 2015 Based on the construction (i.e., German-made), I would focus your search on organizations related to the Occupation of Germany.
warpath Posted December 19, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted December 19, 2015 I've found another example that may have been used in conjunction with the Nuremberg trials. These pins are serial numbered and may be some sort of issue ID for whatever headquarters unit it represents. That would seem to be an odd way to do it since presumably it was pinned on. No concrete idea though so far. Ed
Reforger Posted October 13, 2017 Share #5 Posted October 13, 2017 Better late than never. US Headquarters Berlin District (USHQBD). I don't know what it's for, but it probably is some kind of award since it's numbered.

The Staff Sergeant Posted September 4, 2023 Share #8 Posted September 4, 2023 These were post-war ID badges issued to German civilian employees working for the US Army. I believe the initials mean "U.S. Headquarters Berlin Detachment".
