Here is one. It is engraved to the owner when he was a pre war National Guardsman, and expert marksman. During the war he flew P-40s and was killed in North Africa. He served in ROTC during his college years, and is wearing this medal in the picture. Agreed that these are almost impossible to photograph...

And here is one I used to own. To American Legion Commander of post 372 Arthur R.J. L. Pieper. Marked 14K gold by LGB with a patent Dec 9, 1919. It also has a small diamond in each point of the star.

Putting around on ebay and came across the beautiful lot including 7 gold medals. I have no association with the seller but just thought it was worthy of y'all knowing about. Would love to see better shot is one of you get it. :love: I trimmed the photos to get them as close up as possible.
