Hello. what do we think of this one? Looks like a Balfour but is unmarked.

Do many unmarked Balfour turn up?

I don't know how many of these wings were marked LGB. However, it is my belief that after the war sometime into the 50's Vanguard bought or contracted out for this pattern of wing. I have a photo of a FS from the 1950/60's wearing this pattern wing. I suspect that LGB marked wings are WWII vintage and Vanguard marked wings are KW and post KW vintage.

Fakes of these wings exist, with the major "tell" being that the pin is much longer than normal and the attachement of the hinge and catch being almost to the very tips of the wings.

Thanks again to those who gave advice on a flight surgeon Wing I was contemplating on the ‘is it good’ thread (and above, which I had totally forgotten about!). I now have it and I really like it in hand:

Interestingly, while the wing itself isn’t marked the caduceus is marked ‘sterling’ behind the left shoulder as you look at it from behind. From Costa’s photos above, this seems to be the case for his too.
