Here's a few photos of a 1944 dated duffle bag with some interesting markings.  Does anyone have any idea what they mean?

The colored bars and five digit number above them are POM (Preparation for Overseas Movement) codes that identify the unit to which this soldier was assigned.  Unfortunately, I don't think anyone has found any comprehensive information to identify all the codes and, therefore, the units they represent.
