Flying Rooster Posted November 9, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 9, 2015 Hi, I am looking for any kind of information about a crash of a P-38 at Grimbiemont (Belgium, province of Luxemburg, 10 Km east of Marche-en-Famenne). Tx & Grtz. TFR.
ragpick Posted November 9, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 9, 2015 An approximate date might help.
Flying Rooster Posted November 10, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted November 10, 2015 Sadely no unit no date. We searched the crash site a couple of years ago and we only did find a typical USAAF filler cap and .50mm and 20mm shells (these last one mixed up on the same spot so no doubt P-38). littlebuddy Posted November 29, 2015 Share #7 Posted November 29, 2015 I bought the book about fighter losses of the 8th airforce , but as it is a chronological list of the losses , it could take some time in finding anything
38Driver Posted November 29, 2015 Share #8 Posted November 29, 2015 Most likely a 9th AF 38 as the 367th, 370th and 474th FG were all operating 38s in the ground support role flying out of Florrennes Belgium in late 44-
