The red fabric appears to be twill and the thread around the oval looks like it might be gray and not white. Does it look like WWII vintage or newer? It doesn't glow under black light (I know this isn't always conclusive but I usually look anyway). When and why were cloth jump wings embroidered vs. actual metal jump wings attached to the oval?
