MarcHermann Posted November 5, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2015 Pre-WWI regulations allow for badges of membership in veteran/hereditary organizations on the regular army uniform. Has anyone come across an image of a Doughboy wearing his SUVCW badge on his blouse, or something like it? -Marc
SARGE Posted November 6, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 6, 2015 Marc, I have not seen photos of a WWI period soldier wearing a SUVCW badge but I have seen late 1800s photos of them in wear. Not surprising since the SUVCW provided an active service Volunteer Militia unit for duty during the Spanish-American War.
SARGE Posted November 8, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 8, 2015 Marc, Here is a photo of the SUVCW badges being worn on a couple of pre-WWI uniforms. I picked up this cased photo along with a SV blue web cartridge belt by Mills and a reunion ribbon as a grouping.
