TransCorps Posted November 1, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 1, 2015 Nice pair of rare ACU test pattern combat pants. These were designed as a updated and more robust combat pant for units fighting in Afghanistan. They were tested in training by units of the 75th Ranger Regiment and a unit from the West Virginia National Guard in early 2009. Combat tests were conducted by units of the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division in Afghanistan. From an article I have, around 3,000 pair of the test combat pants were produced by Crye Precision LLC for the test. This pattern was of course adopted as the US Army combat pant, but now produced in the multicam camouflage pattern. Here is a photo of the test combat pants in use in Afghanistan around 2010.
