RustyCanteen Posted October 20, 2015 Share #3 Posted October 20, 2015 Nice photo! No, it looks like a civilian Pan-Am Clipper. Can you read any name on the plane? RC
Navybean Posted October 20, 2015 Share #4 Posted October 20, 2015 I believe that is a civilian transport seaplane.

RustyCanteen Posted October 20, 2015 Share #6 Posted October 20, 2015 Yep, Pan-American Airways. You have a photo of a 'Clipper', Based on the date, it is probably it is an inaugural run to a new route. As for the damage, a professional can probably advise you better once they see it. RustyCanteen Posted October 20, 2015 Share #10 Posted October 20, 2015 It's well worth trying to find out the name that is on your photo. Legends such as Ed Musick, Fred Noonan, and more worked for Pan-Am in the 1930s. RC

manayunkman Posted October 20, 2015 Share #17 Posted October 20, 2015 Those old pictures of New York are really cool. I'm sure they are worth something too.
gwb123 Posted October 20, 2015 Share #18 Posted October 20, 2015 It's going to take a lot to restore that photo. It might be easier to place it under a sheet of glass, take a high resolution digital photograph of it, and then have the new photograph run through PhotoShop.
