Brian Keith Posted October 10, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 10, 2015 Here is an interesting souvenir I picked up from the nephew of the veteran, Joseph J. Yacchari. It is a radiator cap off the jeep his uncle used during WW II. His uncle was an engineer Lt. stationed on Guam, and apparently, when he returned home he brought this with him. As you can see, it is painted “Marie”, the name of his jeep and his mother, “45 46 GUAM”. I suspect he was a better engineer than a painter. His Nephew said he retired from the reserves as a Lt. Colonel. He lived in Illinois. I found a Jospeh J. Yacchari buried in Ft. Thomas KY., not sure if it is the correct one. The age would be about right, and the stone says “COL. US ARMY WWII. tankdriver Posted October 11, 2015 Share #2 Posted October 11, 2015 I had a friend who picked up a NOS 75mm pak muzzle cover at a yard sale, and used it as a excuse to buy the cannon a couple years later.....
Brian Keith Posted October 13, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted October 13, 2015 That's funny Tankdriver, not really looking for a jeep to park under it, but it is a different type of souvenir. Thanks for your comments. BKW
