This is one of my favourite patches. Can't show you the back because it's on a uniform. It's heavy bullion on a rich blue velvet ground.

BILL THE PATCH

I've seen a couple over the years on officers ikes, if I remember they had a bullion bdr. I always assumed they were Brit made. Is that an enlistedmans, or officer uniform?, beautiful patch.

Officer's Bill. I too was thinking British-made, given the 8th AF connection...what I'd call a "tailor-shop" patch. The flash makes the blue and the bullion look somewhat brighter than they are in the hand, so to speak. It has a really nice slightly tarnished patina...the pic is also probably getting on for + 100% size-wise.

I don't know... it seems like a lot of Italian made patches have this fluffy/velvet type gabardine?

 

Just a random thought but regardless it's a beautiful and well-made patch!

...or silk! Until such time as patch-makers start attaching "Made in...." labels, I guess we'll never know for sure!
