Garandomatic Posted October 8, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 8, 2015 Maybe one corner of my kitchen counter isn't the best place to build... Anyways, school started up and I have been super busy lately, just haven't had a chance to finish the chassis on my M2... So I looked at the parts this morning while my coffee brewed, and it was all there except for one measly bogey wheel. I looked everywhere to no avail. I looked, and it doesn't appear that there is much in the way of aftermarket parts that would help, as the tires and main sprockets are the only thing I turned up. If all else fails, I will probably try to get a Tamiya M3A2, since they are sometimes cheap, and roll with that. I'd hate to get a whole kit, though, and only use one piece and then have it sitting on the shelf. If anybody has any 1/35 halftrack pieces in their junk boxes, can you raid it for me? I'd pay fair for it, work a trade, or whatever was needed. My kit is a Dragon, but I would take pretty much anything.
Proud Kraut Posted October 8, 2015 Share #2 Posted October 8, 2015 Can you post a picture of a similar part. I'm sure I'll have one extra in one of my countless spare part boxes.
Garandomatic Posted October 8, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted October 8, 2015 Will do, soon as I get home.
Garandomatic Posted October 8, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted October 8, 2015 Here it is. The little wheel that the pencil is pointing at.
Proud Kraut Posted October 9, 2015 Share #5 Posted October 9, 2015 I spent some time going through all my spare part boxes but I'm afraid I didn't find the exact wheel you're looking for. These are the both ones that look somehow similar. They're already painted. If you want to give it a shot forward me your address and I'll put them in the mail to you on monday. siege1863 Posted October 10, 2015 Share #6 Posted October 10, 2015 I went through my parts box and found a complete set of bogie wheels for the Tamiya halftrack. Looking at some photos of Tamiya kits, it appears the return roller, the part you need, is cast as part of the bogie assembly. This is why I could not find any loose ones. No need to spend your money on a Tamiya kit.
Garandomatic Posted October 11, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted October 11, 2015 Found it! I had a plan in mind to fabricate a replacement, and thank goodness I didn't need to! Many thanks to all...
patches Posted October 11, 2015 Share #8 Posted October 11, 2015 Found it! I had a plan in mind to fabricate a replacement, and thank goodness I didn't need to! Many thanks to all... Happens all the time that way, can't find it if your life depended on it when you first noticed you dropped it, then later after you regroup, it shows itself. siege1863 Posted October 11, 2015 Share #9 Posted October 11, 2015 I remember more than once having to vacuum the carpet because I lost a small piece and then sifting through the contents of the vacuum cleaner bag!
