Have researched this badge and cannot find in the Army insignia encyclopedia or other on line references. I am most likely missing it but need assistance to identify this double ring pin back U.S. Army hat or possibly breast badge?  Any assistance would be appreciated.

It is similar in design but the outside ring on the USAF hat badge is solid where this ring is a 2 piece construction.

Appears to have some age so If Air Force, Being Bronze would most likely be USAAF.   Possibly a Higher ranking staff officer, Aide, DC assigned, something similar?

I believe this is a sweetheart item. I've seen several of them over the years but never seen anything to indicate it's an official badge. They're very well made.

Could be as I am sure they came in all shapes and sizes but over 2" might be quite large for a sweetheart item?

I picked up one identical many years ago at a flea market for $4. I always considered it a sweetheart item. It is very well made, but no maker mark.

It is not a n Air Force uniform insignia. I believe it is a sweetheart broach and I've seem others that were similar tothis one.
