smwinter207 Posted August 29, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 29, 2015 Hey guys, I'm wondering what i should do about a 2.5 in rip in a pair of multicam pants I picked up. I plan on wearing them, but then retiring them to my collection. Should I use the SOT patch for the rip? Or have my dry cleaner sew it shut? These pants were well worn by a vet. I'm guessing the hole(which is also on his other pair of pants) must have been caused by the same utility belt of holster or something. Looks like is wore itself away after a while. Does the SOT patch work? Would this be the new "in field repair" kind of look for this day and age? Thanks for the ideas. S
1SG_1st_Cav Posted August 29, 2015 Share #2 Posted August 29, 2015 A patch would work. These pants were not designed to be wore on the parade field. Obviously, they are COMBAT PANTS worn by War Fighters. If anyone says anything tell them the old First Sergent said to go POUND TAR where the sun don't shine! smwinter207 Posted August 29, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted August 29, 2015 Does the SOT adhesive patches work well? It's amazing that you do not have to iron them on. S
CNY Militaria Posted August 29, 2015 Share #4 Posted August 29, 2015 Those pants ripped quite frequently, and the patch just peeled off, and just looked odd once on anyways. It wasn't uncommon for us to have rips in every pair of pants we had. We always got "the look" from others when we were the rag tag crew on larger bases for resupply, etc.
