stepdale Posted August 25, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 25, 2015 Hello, I am posting this for a friend of mine. It belonged to his grandfather, who served in a general hospital in France during WW2. I know nothing about knives, but wanted to see if the experts here could name the type of knife and maybe give a rough estimate of the value. I know the pictures aren't the best for judging condition, but they're all I have. Thank you, Dale

doyler Posted August 25, 2015 Share #3 Posted August 25, 2015 Nice general purpose utility knife of WW2. Realistic values (in my area) run from $35-$65 in this condition.Seen 3 over the weekend and non sold in that higher range and a couple others went unsold @$125.Have seen mint unissued sell in the $100 area or so. Having the history may add a bit to the price but they were a common knife and a work horse bth during and after the war.
sactroop Posted August 25, 2015 Share #4 Posted August 25, 2015 OBTW, don't turn your nose up to the grooves in the handle, they're supposed to be there. One of my favorite WW2 knives, for reasons I can't fully explain. Oh, and the 0 should be a Q.
