URIK Posted August 22, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2015 I've had this Ike jacket since I was 16. I got it from a friend of mine. It was part of an impressive grouping that unfortunately got broken up. In that grouping was an M43 jacket with the same patches, some personal effects including a pocket Bible that saved the mans life. The Bible slowed down a piece of shrapnel that did wound him but not mortally, hence the purple heart. He had his M3 fighting knife and some other items. The vet also had his original M1 Carbine he was issued. Unfortunately those items went to another guy, who damaged the Carbine during a live fire after he removed and replaced the barrel. I ended up with the Ike jacket. Unfortunately I don't remember his name and it's not written in the jacket. It does have an ETO badge, It is stored elsewhere (I don't remember why).
