Nkumburis Posted August 15, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2015 Good Evening, I picked this up today at a local estate sale. Im not exactly sure what it does its two generators? 8 canisters and two antennas. Can anyone tell me what these things are, what there for and an approximate value? Thank you! - Nick K
Navybean Posted August 15, 2015 Share #2 Posted August 15, 2015 Pretty cool goup, USAAF or USAF survival radio Gibson Girl. When plane goes down this was part of th survival kit. Price would depend on dates if it is WW2 it is worth more then if post War. Group looks some what complete just dirty.
Nkumburis Posted August 15, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted August 15, 2015 The grandson of the veteran told me they have been sitting in the garage for 50 years, also you can see in the fourth picture one of the canisters are marked 1943. - Nick K
Navybean Posted August 15, 2015 Share #4 Posted August 15, 2015 I have seen WW2 complete groups witht the drop case and all the accessories bring around $300.00. Yours is missing the drop case and is dirty so it would probably not bring that much. Just my 2 cents
Nkumburis Posted August 15, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted August 15, 2015 Okay thank you for your help! What would be the proper way to clean this, water and a rag? - Nick K
Navybean Posted August 16, 2015 Share #6 Posted August 16, 2015 Wet rag might work but I would not emurse the radios in water.
