I got this in a box of stuff at an auction.  Can anyone tell me about how old it is....is it WW2 era?  Also what rank?  Thanks

Yep, WW2 vintage and it would have been used for all ranks, from Ensign to Admiral. Hope that helps!

Because the eagle is looking to its right, it is post 1940. Most of these billion badges disappeared during WW2. It is for all officers, Ensign to Fleet Admiral

As mentioned, most likely ww2 vintage, although it could possibly be slightly later. Looks to have had some sea duty by the appearance of the wire bullion.
