Hello EGA collectors & Experts. I have had these for sometime now. I looked at my reference book EGA 1865-1968. After staring at the wings for so long & think there moving LOL. No I'm not smoking anything. Kidding. They look more like the 1904-1914 pattern? Am I right? Anybody have a clue of the value. I see as much as $300. or is it just wishful thinking. I know these are nice. The smaller one is H&H marked. Both are marked sterling. the larger has no maker mark that I see....the backs may have been switched as well. Thanks in advance, David

these came out of the same box of USMC emblems. Assuming the were together. looking at EGA's

I know just enough to mess up. I'm like you existing ref give me a headache trying to see differences. I believe one of our members has a book in the works. Some refer to them as "Gooney Birds" and as "China Marine EGA" They are nice officer examples. Richard

It looks rather like M1926 officers EGA

It is - and it has a WWII "flower" roller.

Here's some recent completed sales of similar large 1926 pattern EGA's: having the small pair would add, what, $50 to these prices?

Im thinking they are M37s, and i see a value of around 120-130 for the barracks cover emblem. The H&H collar would go around 25-40.

Though the wide wrapped rope tends to throw me off, and could very well be earlier. I have examples that are attributed to Korean era officers.

Model 1937...sterling strikes were minted mid-WWII and are the most common of this pattern

The first two sold examples Bob displays are from a seller who prices high and relists constantly. Eventually, some sell but realistically you aren't going to see that much/ I'd say with the continents worn down like that, you're looking at $100-$125 though I watched two sell last week on eBay, full auction, for under $85. Collar emblem, $25-$35. Singles haven't been moving high lately

Model 1937...

My bad - I'd thought the 26's had the spread legs and the 37's there was no gap between the legs.

There's a lot of sellers that like to list this and the Meyers pattern as M26...likely trying to bump the price by associating them with the China Marines. This is the Imperial style when H&H bought the firm, the closed legs were the basic H&H. I say M37 but I'm not certain that was the year any of them started exactly, due to overlap, etc. Officer ones are harder to pin down because of the pattern differences between firms
