Strange probably bogus SF dog tags

I saw these dog tags at the flea market over the weekend and took a photograph of it without buying it. I have no way of covering up what is possibly the social security number if one of the administrators can help. Has anyone ever come across anything like this.

I would guess Kimo was either a paintballer or heavy onto SOCOM and his (her?) team had them made up at the local surplus store. These guys are every bit as obsessive as collectors.

Thanks for the information.

Paintball is a good guess that I never would have thought of. I saw this thread last night but couldn't think of what to say, though I don't think they're original. I don't have many modern dog tags but not much about this one looks right. No blood type, no religion and I can't say I've ever seen the branch the person was in spelled out all the way and not abbreviated. All the dashes are strange as well. There's one before the SS number (wonder if it's real?) and even between Special and Forces.

I bet they're not talking about fish wolves, either. It looks like they ran out of space and shortened code into cod. :D Or maybe it even stands for the WW2 video game Call of Duty.

Someone may disagree with me, but I don't believe it is standard practice to name your unit or even something generic like "Special Forces" on your dog tags. That would not work out very well if you were captured.

The same goes for what appears to be a "code name". Plus there seems to be a lack of wear on these.

I'm thinking these are "wanna bee" tags belonging to a teenager or a gamer.

COD- Cause of Death, Black Wolf 1. I guess it is meant to sound "Rough, Bad you know what, ETC". Definatly not real.

definately a dreamer who needs to be hit upside the head and reintroduced to the reality that he's short, fat and sitting in his mother's basement. If you don't rate it, don't claim it. No dogtags are needed for paintball

He must not be very smart to have his Social Security # and name on display at the flea market?

I guess he never considered ID theft
