Patchcollector Posted August 21, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted August 21, 2015 Great examples guys! That 566th appears to have been sewn on to something at one time. One thing I noticed(and like!) about the war era Medical unit patches is that most of them have "Vietnam" incorporated into the design. Patchcollector Posted September 7, 2015 Author Share #12 Posted September 7, 2015 AWESOME GROUPING PATCHCOLLECTOR. TODD Thanks Todd, glad that you like them. Sometime later this Fall I'm hoping to have more time and I'm thinking to post each patch from the group shot individually. Many of the Medical unit pieces were beautifully hand embroidered and deserve to be shown with more detail. firefighter Posted September 1, 2016 Share #25 Posted September 1, 2016 Here from my collection is a Vietnam war era incountry made 4th Casualty Staging Flight patch, hand embroidered with quilted front insets.I believe that this is an early design, and haven't been able to find out much of anything about this unit. Almost 99.9999% sure this is an AF unit. It would be part of a Hospital. These were the people that would get patients ready to be evacuated back to the states or a larger hospital for treatment. The 2 alligators carrying a stretcher, probably up the ramp of a C-9 Nightingale. Awesome design and stitching.
