ElleninOR Posted July 9, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 9, 2015 Hello -- I found this patch at an estate sale, not having any idea what it was/is. Just wanted to share this with collectors/enthusiasts. I'd like to see it go to those who appreciate it the most. Thank you so much -- Ellen
Morlok Posted July 9, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 9, 2015 Great patch...I love it! I'm mainly a helmet guy, so my patch knowledge is limited, but I like it! Nice find!

mortaydc60 Posted July 13, 2015 Share #5 Posted July 13, 2015 This patch just sold on ebay for under 800. From what has been said in earlier posts this must be a pretty good purchase. Mort
CUBUSMC Posted July 13, 2015 Share #6 Posted July 13, 2015 Yes either that or is it just a sign of a change in the hobby, collectors and the economy?
ocsfollowme Posted July 13, 2015 Share #7 Posted July 13, 2015 I have seen a big uptick in prices for rare pieces in the past two months on ebay. And not just for ultra rare pieces.
blitzkrieg gsd Posted July 17, 2015 Share #8 Posted July 17, 2015 I'm hearing that a lot of over seas collectors are starting to buy US items. They have been known to spend a lot of cash on German TR items common and rare pieces. So maybe that's who's driving up the prices on eBay it would make since. walika Posted March 12, 2017 Share #9 Posted March 12, 2017 I've posted images and descriptions of VMF-214 WWII issues here: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/28997-what-are-the-rarest-wwii-usmc-patches/&do=findComment&comment=2303258 . The wool patch in the OP appears to be the American embroidered on wool [Type-3 in my comparison post].
