GeneralLucas Posted July 6, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 6, 2015 I was set up this weekend at a gun show here in Texas and a man sold me this blade, it was found in Hillsboro, Texas. It is the most crude sword conversions I have ever seen, so I had to have it. It is a Schnitzler and Kirschbaum Import sword. It appears for a handle, a band of iron was rolled around the tang and the brass pommel was reused. There is a good chance that a Confederate did this but nothing to back it that up. But the balde shows age and it is good for show and tell.

Tim Posted July 7, 2015 Share #5 Posted July 7, 2015 You have a saber converted into a 'corn knife'. An almost literal "sword into plow share"
