edgeer Posted August 3, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 3, 2008 Here's another one of my 1/35 scale models, I've built. This one I'm real proud of. I built it to represent a M966 I commanded for nearly 5 years. Also it is the first multi-media build i did. I used the Academy, M966, TOW 2 Missile Carrier, (Kit #CA149) as the base and used the following kits to add detail: DML U.S. Marine Tank-Killers; for the TOW 2 (kit #3012), to upgrade the TOW weapon system to the TOW 2 used by the 7 Inf. Div. light, I used photo-etch kits: Eduard Photo-etch, M1036 HMMV with Tow Launcher (Kit # 35 258) and Aber Photo-etch, TOW and Dragon Detail Kit (PAB35009) for details to the interior and exterior of the M966 and the Tow weapon system. I scratched built the BGM-71 (Tow missile). The AN/GRC-160 came from an old M151 jeep model. The COMSEC KY-57 was scratch built. other scratched built items include all carrying cases for the weapon system, TA-1 field phone, spoil of DR8 field wire, all power cables for the weapon system. The camouflage system was created just like the real items, I used wood dowels for the poles, gauze for the nets and tissue for the camouflage bags. Here's the link for more detail on how I built it. Enjoy.
