gwb123 Posted June 29, 2015 Share #3 Posted June 29, 2015 Another trick is to turn the shirt inside out, and try to read the name impression from the backside. I've even gone as far as holding a mirror to the backside so that the letters look right.
Baron3-6 Posted June 29, 2015 Share #4 Posted June 29, 2015 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_J._Livsey Might be your guy - served in 3ID in combat during Korea. He was also 8th Army commander about the time OG-107's switched to BDU's. Only thing that doesn't match is the 2nd award CIB.

River Patrol Posted June 29, 2015 Share #6 Posted June 29, 2015 I like that the CIB and Jump wing are put over extra material, like a patch, but are actually direct embroidered to the uniform.
Mitch Posted June 29, 2015 Share #7 Posted June 29, 2015 Steve, It looks like the subdued CIB and jump wings were added over color direct embroidery so the uniform is all subdued. Mitch

gwb123 Posted June 30, 2015 Share #10 Posted June 30, 2015 Look closely at the stars on the collar. Rather than being directly embroidered, they look like a black applique that has been added over directly embroidered white stars. For all this trouble, I am surprised they just didn't start with a new shirt! Also, look closely at the 3rd ID patch on the right shoulder. It looks like it is not fully embroidered. That is unusual.
