doughboy Posted June 13, 2015 Share #1 Posted June 13, 2015 Hi altogether, I would need your help on two FS knives that I have in my collection. The first one is a third pattern "William Rodgers" knife and I'm not sure whether it's ww2 or postwar ? the other one is a second pattern knife with markings "Sheffield England - Broad Arrow - and No.4".Does anyone of you knows what manufacturer that was.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. doughboy
Reeder3 Posted June 15, 2015 Share #2 Posted June 15, 2015 The 3rd pattern looks post war to me. I like the handle on the 2nd pattern but not the stamp or its location. As a personal rule, if they have more than the England, broad arrow, pommel #, and acceptance #/code stamps, I assume they're post war and leave them be. That does not mean they're not collectable or not worth anything, just outside of my collecting preferences.
doyler Posted June 15, 2015 Share #3 Posted June 15, 2015 Agree with Reeder Also typically the cross guards are thinner as well on the post war models that were issue or made
V42 Posted June 25, 2015 Share #4 Posted June 25, 2015 With the thin crossguard and the way it's marked, it's post war but it is still a nice F/S knife.
