SGM Stephen Joseph CCC MACV-SOG RVN Sog Knife, Beret, Special Forces/SOG Grouping

A fine grouping I've owned for many years and have just now sorted out...SGM Joseph was one of the fittest and toughest men I've ever seen...I watched him carry a FULL footlocker down two flights of stairs like it was nothing and he was in his 80s...And, yes, I offered to help! Ed

I'm curious about a couple of things.

How was he instrumental in forming SF?

When did he retire from the Army?

Thanks
