Okay I know it's the 28th Div. and I'm sure MG is machine gun but what is the significance of the roman numeral 3? Couldn't find anything under battalion, corps or regiment. Number too low for that division.

It is most likely from the MG Co. of the 111th Infantry Regiment.

Okay, that makes sense. I'm thinking roman numeral and forgot about the regiments, 110th and 111th. Thanks.
