I recently attended a local estate auction, to bid on some Korean War uniforms. Just before it started one the auctioneers and a ring man came from the house carrying another uniform. I was surprised to say the least because it was a WWI uniform from the 89th Division. No helmet or leg wraps, but in good shape. Everything was put up separately, and I got every piece. It was I'd to the Korean vet's father. Hecht who was a wagoneer in the Ammunition Train. Extra shirt sized patches and a Victory Ribbon Bar, three battle stars. The Korean War Ikes, went for at least twice of what they were worth. The WWI group was better than the Korean group, at least for me. Here's what I picked up:

I haven't been able to Id the artillery unit, although I have found Hecht's records in the Missouri Archives online. Shirt sized insignia and ribbon bar I found in the tunic pockets. The tunic had his name in it. No PH found, no Missouri WWI Medal or his Victory Medal. So much stuff at the sale other than military, it was very hard to search for items there. I did pick up some of the Korean items, just not the items I wanted. I was happy with the WWI uniform.
