ludwigh1980 Posted May 25, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 25, 2015 Just picked this up at a local estate sale. I was very late however this was still there and for $25.00. I had a difficult time in tracking it down. Googled H-C Electric Co.... nothing. Googled U.S.N. Telephone No 1092...nothing. Desided to go through past auction lists for antique phones, found one company (long gone) that was an early maker of telephones, the Holtzer-Cabot electric Co. Phones from them are very rare. Found some company info online that stated that they were early outfitters to the U.S. Navy for Telphone systems on ships and submarines before WW1. Phone is solid brass with nickel plating. Measures 9 inches long. Must be fairly uncommon as I could not find another and I suscribe several different auction services. I wonder with the number if it possible to track down what vessel it came from. Some-how survived the scraper.

artur95 Posted May 25, 2015 Share #3 Posted May 25, 2015 Very interesting relic. Were there any other military items at the sale? Maybe you can check if a relative might be on the Naval muster rolls... Artur
