vzemke Posted May 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 17, 2015 This is believed to date from between 1946 and 1952. Some believe it to be a cloth DI but at 2.5 inches tall its somewhat big for that. Full motto is "Long and Deadly"
MikeHype Posted August 19, 2015 Share #2 Posted August 19, 2015 While cleaning out my Grandmother's house we found 3 of these pins. Same thing. I know my Grandfather was in an artillery group, but he died before I knew him, so I don't know anything else about them.
1SG_1st_Cav Posted August 20, 2015 Share #3 Posted August 20, 2015 From SAWICKI's book, page 998. The 773rd earned 5 Campaign Streamers in Europe during WWII. This insignia was not approved until 6 March 1953. It was inactivted on 26 December 1945 at Camp Bowie, TX. It was reactivated 2 December 1946 as part of the Organized Reserve with Headquarters at Pittsbugh, PA. It was inactivated in Pittsburgh on 25 March 1948. FIELD ARTILLERY IS THE KING OF BATTLE!
