romIs this common or as unusual as I think it is?

I have gotten much of my knowledge about the things I collet from other collectors or the internet but recently I decided to purchase a few books that have been known to be valuable reference documents. I ordered M.H.Cole's Book IV from Amazon. It was used but still in excellent shape. When I got it today, this is what I found on the inside cover.

I thought this was quite unusual and interesting, in a very 'good' sort of way.

I have one that was sent to Greg Robinson (who contributed to this forum and was a Kabar expert, who passed away several years ago) and signed by M.H. Cole. Mine does not have the little certificate, however.

Mine came from ebay.

Mine is signed to me, but does not have the certificate either. I think only the first 500 or so were certified in that way. Very interesting in being signed to Stephen Dorsey who is of course also well known in the collecting community.
