camonick Posted July 28, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2008 One last pic. Saved the best for last, unless anybody wants shots of other Japanese pics. Think this would "fly" by today's regs. IMPERIAL QUEST Posted July 29, 2008 Share #5 Posted July 29, 2008 A cool look back in time just as it was. I have quite a few VERY naughty pinups that I obtained from my grandfather years ago. Unfortunately with a wife and daughter living in my house , I can't display them like I would like to.

Jeeper704 Posted July 29, 2008 Share #7 Posted July 29, 2008 "Remove those pictures and wipe that smile off your face, soldier!" I have a few pin-up cards and photos as well. They sure had some good looking women those days (don't tell my Fiancée please). Erwin

jeremiahcable Posted July 29, 2008 Share #9 Posted July 29, 2008 I absolutely love Pin Ups! I've been slowly tracking down the Esquire Vargas Girls from the months of certain Pacific battles. Here's a site for a guy that does modern Pin Ups. Great artwork, IMO. http://www.bawidamann.com/

IMPERIAL QUEST Posted July 29, 2008 Share #11 Posted July 29, 2008 I wonder... in today's PC world, would identical display get by? Nope, the poster would be arrested and charged with perversion, forced to attend sensitivity training - and finally, publically read a letter of apology in a congressional hearing which would be televised on CNN. jeremiahcable Posted July 29, 2008 Share #12 Posted July 29, 2008 In Iraq we had a wall of gals from Maxim, Stuff, GQ, Cosmo (Yes, Cosmo) in one of the houses we commandeered and lived in.
Greg Sebring Posted August 1, 2008 Share #13 Posted August 1, 2008 Here is a small pocket foldout calender my dad used dated 1945. It was supplied by Esquire as a Christmas greeting. I don't know where dad picked it up...probably sent to him is my guess. The twelve months are all "Vargas" girls and I downsized it a bit. agfacolor Posted August 11, 2008 Share #14 Posted August 11, 2008 Calling these "porn", is a bit of a stretch don't you think? Sorry Lee, maybe not porn, what would be the correct ? allowable name ? for such material? Erotic Photography ? Sexy Photos ? Arousing Imagery ? what would modern soldiers call it ? Rustykamel Posted August 11, 2008 Share #15 Posted August 11, 2008 Hi, I thought that some of you might enjoy this pin-up with a military theme. The artist didn't sign the painting, but do believe Zoe Mozert, a famous 1930's female pin-up artist, created it. Ms. Mozert oftentimes used herself as the model. Best wishes, Jim

brandon_rss18 Posted August 12, 2008 Share #24 Posted August 12, 2008 lol, well I would share the photos, but those are for my eyes only! Put it this way, my favorite pic she had taken was when she was wearing my 101st ike jacket and OS cap with fishnet stockings and red high heels, laying on the ground saluting with one leg straight in the air, with my 48 star flag in the background. That is my idea of true patriotism at its most beautiful moment.
CW4AFB Posted August 19, 2008 Share #25 Posted August 19, 2008 Gents---Great topic---I thought you might enjoy these pictures of the inside of WW2 27th ID officer's foot locker that i picked up recently. For those who remember back that far, our Gunny didn't mind us having pinups of girls in the squadbay; the only pictures he would tear down were the pictures of Bob marley smoking a giant spliff...
