jumpwings Posted July 28, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2008 We (FSSF LHG-UK) have just aquired an M1937 Field Range...Thing is, it's been painted with silver paint... I reckon they where plain silver/alluminium, but could be wrong... Also, where some painted OD? Any one tell me where to get parts?
Kration Posted July 29, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 29, 2008 From the factory they were both plain-unpainted and painted OD.. I have one unpainted dated 1941 & and another 1943 that is painted OD from the factory. As far as parts... depends on exactly what you are looking for... Shoot me a PM and I'll try to link u with some vendors Kration
Bob Hudson Posted July 29, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 29, 2008 There are some photos of these online and they all look like unpainted metal: makes sense. I assume they were stainless steel or aluminum and keeping them bare eliminates the need for heat-resistant paints. Have you seen the article abut converting them to propane? It seems to have some good technical details and lots of photos http://www.seabeecook.com/equipment/field/..._conversion.htm
