Philippine Islands Campaign

Hi Folks – I’ve seen some great research info on this forum, and I’m wondering how you begin this process.

I bought this knife recently on eBay and am interested in knowing more about its previous owner – Gale Durbin – who may have served in the Philippines in 1944-45. The Seller thought it belonged to a woman, but I’m not so sure.

See pics for more info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - Jim

Well... So far I can't find anything using the "normal" searches and genealogy websites. I'm going to keep looking, and I'd appreciate any advice you can give.

Thanks,

Jim

find out what military units were there at that time and reach out to the unit historians, also it could have been a ship good luck. Have you considered contacting a genealogist in person or check with a school that teaches genealogy and offer it as a project good luck
