This new USMC patch arrived after some anxious moments where it was not showing up in the post office system for several days. VMSB-241 Sons of Satan established 1 Mar. 1942 at Midway and were commanded by Maj. Lofton Henderson when they took part in that historic battle. They later operated from Efate and Piva and Emirau while taking part in attacks on Rabaul before moving to the Philippines to participate in those operations.

Thanks for the comments. Though it really interesting that they were commissioned actually at Midway and although they did not get the patches until later in the war, it's great to have something from one of the squadrons that participated in this historical battle.

Sweet find and in excellent condition !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks. I can make out what appears to be holes left from being sewn on sometime in the past.

Yes, a great patch. In addition to the twill, I am lucky to have the chain stitched on wool variety shown in Millstein.
