This photo came my way labelled William Thomas Blincoe born 1820 but the dates of birth has to be wrong.  I was wondering if anyone can ID the uniform and the likely period of the photo. I think the cap has VS on it.William Thomas Blincoe 1820 Kentucky.jpg

That photo is more like 1920- or thereabouts. It looks to date roughly from 1911-1921.

I don't recognize the 'VS' badge, but it may be for the Vermont State Guard?

I'm thinking pre-WWI. It looks like he has rimless buttons and the tops of his leggings look to be a pair of the M1907 with the long strap that wrapped around the leg.

Pre-WW1.....circa 1905-1910 would be my estimation.

As it sits, I'd put it at about 1910- 25.

Photo format and photographer markings may narrow the dating.

If a RPPC-- the stamp box may help.
