4th Miss Cav

A diorama I put together a few years back for a local model show. It is of the second day of Gettysburg during the assault by the 13th,17th,18th and 21st Miss Inf. through the Peach Orchard near the Sherfy Farm against the 57th, 68th, 105th and 114th Pennsylvania Inf. The figures are all pewter 25 mm Dixon. The barn I scratch built out of balsa wood.

That is awesome...great job! My GG Grandfather Simeon Broadway Robinson was present that day...he was a private in Company G, 21st Mississippi Infantry. Thank you for sharing.

My great-great grandfather was in Company H, 17 Mississipppi Regiment. He must have been in this charge as he was not dropped from the roll until he was wounded at Chickamauga in September.

Across the field, I had another Gr-Gr-Uncle in the 3rd Arkansas Regiment, Hood's "Texas" Brigade, that charged Devil's Den. He wasn't so lucky.

From Gettysburg to Chickamauga, I would say that was a tough 3 months of fighting for any man. Must have come South with General Longstreet.

Very nice dio. I guess 25mm is smaller than 54mm. The painting of the figures and the action portrayed is great.
