Well, a stainless blade from Toledo does not exactly scream vintage or quality....and if there is no cert number on the blade, my understanding is that it's not "official".

Don't know what the sword market is like in Germany, but $200 would be at the very top of my price range for this one, maybe even a little over.

I agree with Varangain. This is a recently made sword of indifferent quality. Ask if there is a certification number etched into the spine of the blade to see if this is an official manufacturer. If not, I would not pay $200 for it.

Saw one very much like this recently at a shop - I think it was marked the same. New made, they wanted $90 plus tax.

The certification number found on German swords is actually a month and year date and basically a lot number. Bermejo, and Marto both in Toledo, Spain, make good quality US swords.

I'm not really familiar with swords but I have a Sewanee Military Academy sword made by Eickhorn - Germany.I don't know if there is a certification no. on the blade - have to take a look on it.The next is - I saw an Academy sword with a regular blade ( there was no etching on the blade ) for sale in the military clothing store in the Ledward Barracks ( Schweinfurt ) about 20 years ago. That sword was made in Toledo Spain and the price was $ 200 - and this is not a joke.I know it so exactly because I wanted to buy it but it was too expensive for me at that time.Well, time and prices change.Hope this helps.

They use stainless blades, which apart from being completely unsatisfactory as a sword blade material, is also not the specification nickel-plated, tempered, carbon steel, at least for the M1902.

I would hardly call their products "quality". Rather the opposite.

Stainless steel swords meet USMC specs: you can buy new, online, certified USMC officer swords made in Spain for anywhere from about $300-700.
