USdog Posted April 12, 2015 Author Share #16 Posted April 12, 2015 If I may ask, what online resources? Dave I use ancestry.com as my primary source for USN and USMC records from WWI to Korea. It's also great for WWI army tags to find their units and sometimes good for WWII army records too. Obviously NARA for basic WWII enlistment records. National WWII Memorial website to see if I'm lucky enough to see if someone did a little write-up on the veteran. Obituaries and findagrave can sometimes lead to good info or at least a start. Lastly, basic searches on google for websites the veteran would pop up on. Hope this helps, Dave.... Connor Forgot to add that sometimes online newspaper archives can sometimes yield good results too.

twining540 Posted April 13, 2015 Share #20 Posted April 13, 2015 Love the Chosin tags! I have a client of mine that I believe was with the 2/5 at Chosin. He has some interesting stories. He still has his ike jacket, PH, and tags. Its a long shot, but I will give a call and see if he knew Shappell or has any info on him.
